Lukasz Twarkowski is a theater director who creates multimedia performances combining theater, video, and visual arts. Together with his team he’s created provocative performances in Poland and has received a special recognition by both public and critics in Lithuania with “Lokis” in 2017; it went on to be nominated for nine Lithuanian stage awards receiving four including the most prestigious, “Golden Cross of the Stage” given out by the Ministry of Culture to Twarkowski himself. His latest performance “Respublica” garnered attention not only because of the grandeur of the staging that breaks the boundaries between reality, theater, and illusion but also the subjects of the piece that span many topical themes such as identity, virtual reality, and human passion.
