Recently, the light designer Marion Hewlett has particularly attracted attention with her designs for productions by the French theatre director Stéphane Braunschweig, for which she exclusively works at the Opéra-Comique and the Théâtre du Châtelet Paris, at the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, Edinburgh International Festival and Salzburg Festival, at the Scala and the Piccolo Teatro di Milano, at the Residenz Theater in Munich, the State Opera »Unter den Linden« Berlin, the Barbican Theatre London, the Théâtre National de Strasbourg and the Deutsche Oper am Rhein.
Further light designs she created for opera, ballet and drama. The choreographers she worked with include Roland Petit at the Bolshoi Theatre Moscow, at the Opéra Bastille Paris and in Tokyo, Patrice Bart at the Palais Garnier, at the Korean National Ballet and the Polish National Ballet Warsaw and Angelin Preljocaj at the Palais Garnier and the Berlin State Opera. At the Vienna State Ballet, Marion Hewlett was responsible for the lighting design of Rudolf Nureyev’s »Swan Lake« in 2014/2015 and for Manuel Legris’ »Le Corsaire« in 2015/2016.
