Nadia Kovaliova, who teaches visual communication and photography at the LCC International University in Klaipėda, also has another profession - she creates and illustrates children's books. Her book series about Bear and Goose delights not only Lithuanian readers, but also French children.
Creative inspiration usually comes to Nadia in everyday life situations, it is born in meetings with people or after hearing a song on the radio. She wants to share her perception of the world and everyday observations through illustrations. "True, now it's getting harder to see kindness and beauty," he says. - As a little girl, I did not know that a person could be so cruel and that such ugly things could happen in the world. All this works - both psychologically and physically. I want to believe in goodness, I want to see it and share it with others, to focus on light and positivity."
The author and illustrator of children's books created her first book as a child, she says, her mother could not take her away from the table and the paper. Her mother saved her first book - animals and beasts lived in it, just like now. "Animals are the easiest for me to draw, they are both cuter and funnier for me," she says and adds that she wants to capture many everyday moments - the beauty of nature, emotions, her daughter's behavior, love for each other, care.
And although N. Kovaliova graduated from LCC International University with a bachelor's degree in business administration, as she says, she did not run away from herself. "I love seeing the results of this work," she says. After completing her BA, Nadia attended the University of Westminster in London, where she studied for an MA in Visual Communication.
The book author, who was born in Krasnoyarsk, Russia and spent her childhood there, currently lives in Klaipėda, teaches at the university, writes and illustrates books. Raises a daughter. "I try to create for her the same beautiful childhood memories that I have myself - warmth and coziness next to my mother. Inspiration comes to the place where you feel loved and can love yourself," says the illustrator.
