Described as very personal and honest with her interpretations, Lithuanian pianist Neringa Valuntonyte is gathering audiences throughout Europe with a big variety of solo and chamber music repertoire. Always searching for different performance ideas, Neringa branches out by creating conceptual concerts that are primarily focused on human behaviour and emotions and include different forms of media. Neringa also gives a lot of attention to rarely heard and modern music pieces which she tends to combine with more well-known traditional repertoire.
During her studies in the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover in 2017 Neringa has increased her number of performances in Germany after her successful debut with the recital ''En Voyage'' in ''Jiang Artists Festival'' in 2018 at Kaufbeuren after which she was invited again to present a concert for female composers in 2019. Neringa was also participating in the German-Polish Festival “Viva Polonia” as well as in concert series “Bechstein Young Professionals” and “Konzert junger internationaler Preisträger“.
In Germany Neringa was also involved in an outreach program. She was a scholar of “YEHUDI MENUHIN Live Music Now Hannover e. V.”, where together with singers Ketevan Chuntishvili and Jan Bukowski, they gave chamber music performances for people in psychiatric hospitals, hospices, retirement homes and other similar institutions.
Outside of Germany, Neringa has also held numerous concerts in Lithuania, Poland, Denmark, Finland, Latvia, Estonia, Austria and Ukraine. She has given significant performances and solo recitals at the Lviv National Music Academy, Lithuanian Music and Theatre Academy, the IInd Vilnius Piano Festival, ''Christofer Summer Festival'', ''Young talents of Vaidilos Klasika'', International M. K. Čiurlionis Music Festival, “Four in Lithuania”, International project “Crossing Keyboards“, Gradus International Piano Festival, and also performed with Lviv Chamber Orchestra “Akademia”, Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, Vilnius University Chamber Orchestra, Szczecin Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra and collaborated with conductors such as Ihor Pylatiuk, Christian Frattima, Modestas Jankūnas and Maria Sydor.
Neringa was also active in various chamber music projects. With the Piano Trio “Tribus”, she won a piano chamber music prize in ISA'17 (Reichenau an der Rax, Austria), and received an honorary prize from the President of the Republic of Lithuania. She has also had a collaboration with pianists P. Pancekauskas and J. Sodeika, and together they recorded “Iodio”, a piece written for three pianos by the Lithuanian composer G. Sodeika for his CD production “Tremors”.
In 2019 Neringa has won the 3rd price in VIII International M. K. Čiurlionis piano and organ competition, where in the final round she performed M. Ravel’s piano concerto G Major with the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra conducted by M. Pitrėnas.
In 2020 Neringa has received her Master’s degree at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover and started pursuing art doctorate in Lithuanian Music and Theatre Academy, where she currently is conducting artistic research on the topic “Creating an Academic Musician’s Persona: From Stage to Personal Brand”. This research influenced the creation of a few conceptual programs including “Stories”, “The Waiting” and “(In)complete”.
