Sigitas Gailius graduated from LMTA in 2012, having obtained a master's degree in percussion instrument pedagogy.
From the beginning of his studies, he was actively involved in the musical activities of percussionists. in 2007 interned with professor mariimba player Linda Maxey (USA) and won a competition named after her - a scholarship at LMTA.
in 2011 became the laureate of the international percussion competition in Ukmerge. In the same year, he participated in the International Antonio Santangelo Marimba Competition in Italy and became a laureate.
Sigitas Gailius is a regular participant of percussion festivals in Ukmerge, performing as a soloist and a member of the percussion ensemble. Played together with professor Ludwig Albert (Belgium), prof. Edgars Sakons (Latvia), prof. Vladimir Sudnowski (Belarus). He also performed at festivals abroad ("Slavianskij Bazar" in Belarus, "Drumming festival" in Poland).
The percussionist is a member of the most famous Lithuanian percussion ensemble "Giunter percussion", which regularly organizes performances in Lithuania and has visited all neighboring countries. The ensemble participates in the contemporary music festivals "Gaida", "Permainų muzika", "Muzikiu paradas". He also participates in projects with chamber orchestras in Lithuania, toured in Germany, Italy, Hungary. He performed with the most famous Lithuanian choirs on various Lithuanian stages. He performed with the "Vilnius" choir in Russia. The Giunter percussion ensemble also performs with the most famous Lithuanian conductors: Modest Pitrėnas, Robert Šerveniks, Sergej Krylov, Donats Katkums.
in 2017 Sigitas Gailius was invited as a member of the jury to the competition of young percussionists in Riga, Latvia. He currently plays in the LVSO percussion group. Since 2016 is an assistant in the LMTA percussion class.
