Tadas’ artistic practice can be separated in terms of events and objects. His event based work is focused on creating audio-visual performances which combine theatricality with technology, live video and soundscapes. In terms of object making, he makes performance objects or creates performance situations. These include larger installations and smaller things, which fully reveal themselves only through interaction.
He has also been awarded a prestigious AHRC doctoral research award and currently is a practice-led PhD researcher at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. Tadas’ research is focused on building an interdisciplinary approach which combines theatrical and artistic expression. Moreover, he also has caught the philosophical / phenomenological bug is developing a discourse on non-representational, poetic practices.
Since 2010 he has developed and shown work in United Kingdom, Denmark, Hungary, Lithuania and Latvia. In addition to artistic work he has collaborated with a number of international and national theatres – Hotel Pro Forma, Vigszinhaz, Vilnius National Youth theatre, and Juozas Miltinis theatre.
Tadas is currently developing a number of site-specific, interdisciplinary projects. In collaboration with an artist-curator, director of Article gallery, Mona Casey, and an outdoor music and arts festival Yaga Gathering, he is preparing a hybrid outdoor gallery/stage space. Collaboration with a well-known Lithuanian sound art performer and promoter Arma Agharta and Juozas Miltinis theatre is focused on staging sound making processes on theatre stage. Another project – Dwelling, has grown out from an interdisciplinary collaboration between creatives from Denmark, Italy, Poland and Lithuania, and is in the second phase of development.
