Thomas Cruise Mapother IV (more commonly known as Tom Cruise; born July 3, 1962 in Syracuse, New York) is an American actor and film producer.
Tom was the third child in his family. His mother was a special education teacher and his father an electrical engineer. By the age of 14, the future actor had attended 15 different schools in the USA and Canada. The family moved frequently from one city to another as the parents looked for work.
In 1990, through his first wife, Mimi Rogers, he became involved in Scientology.
