He started his musical career in the boys' choir "Ažuoliukas", where he met another "Hyperbolė" vocalist - Michails Garberis, whom he later invited to the group. in 1979 graduated from the Faculty of Industrial-Civil Construction. At the beginning of the group's existence, he also played the rhythm guitar, like the other members of the group, he composed songs ("Tu grok", "Daktarai", "Porcelianas", "Lapų likimas", etc.), especially taking care of diction and voice timbre.
