About the Association The Association "Motus Recto" was founded on 13 December 1993. The Association started its activity as the Lithuanian Classical Guitar Club. The founder of the club is Julius Kurauskas, a famous Lithuanian pedagogue, whose passion for classical guitar and desire to bring together like-minded people became the basis of this association. The club quickly became an important meeting point for classical guitar artists, amateurs and enthusiasts in Lithuania. History Vingiai In 1997, guitar enthusiast Gintaras Kamsiukas became the club's president, and under his leadership the club experienced a particularly prosperous period. On his initiative, dozens of concert tours were organised, both with Lithuanian and foreign performers. In addition, three international classical guitar festivals and charity concerts were held, and the club's activities were complemented by the publication of the newspaper "Gitara". In 2004, in order to expand its activities and to give them even greater formality, the club was reorganised into an association. In the autumn of 2006, the association was headed by the guitarist Algimantas Pauliukevičius, who has continued the traditions of "Motus Recto" and expanded its activities. Scope and Objectives "Motus Recto" aims to promote the development of the art of classical guitar in Lithuania by organising concerts, festivals, master classes and other events. The association also aims to promote international cooperation by inviting well-known foreign artists to Lithuania and organising international projects. The Association's main activities include: Organising classical guitar concerts and festivals. Educational programmes for both beginners and advanced guitarists. Publishing the newspaper "Gitara", which provides the most up-to-date information on the world of classical guitar. Future Plans "Motus Recto" Association aims to continue to be the main promoter of classical guitar culture in Lithuania, to encourage the emergence and growth of young talents and to strengthen Lithuania's position in the international classical guitar community. The association plans to expand its activities by organising even more international events and projects that would contribute to the promotion and popularity of classical guitar art.
