Born 26 06 1970 in Vilnius. Art critic, photography historian and critic. Member of the Lithuanian Photographers' Union since 2002, granted the status of art creator in 2005. Member of the International Association of Art Critics (AICA) since 1999. Studies: 1977-88 at Vilnius M. K. Čiurlionis Secondary School of Art, 1989-93 at Kaunas Vytautas Magnus University, 1994-95 at the Central European University in Prague (Czech Republic), 1995-96 at the University of Newcastle (Great Britain). 1997-2001 PhD at Vilnius Academy of Arts. 2005 defended her doctoral thesis The Aesthetics of Boredom in Lithuanian Photography of the 1980s. 1997-2006 worked at the Lithuanian Art Museum, 1998-2006 at the Vilnius Academy of Arts, 1998-2000 at the weekly 7 meno dienos, 2000-2001 editor of Lithuanian TV culture programmes, since 2006 lecturer at Napier University (Edinburgh, UK). Since 1994 she has been publishing articles in Lithuanian cultural press, scientific journals and various photography publications. Curator of exhibitions.
Awards: 7 meno dienos weekly prize (1997), Lithuanian Photographers' Union prize (2006), Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania prize (2008).
