Lithuanian jazz musician, composer, teacher. Plays bass guitar and double bass, leads musical groups, is known as the author of original compositions, virtuoso of acoustic and electric bass.He learned the basics of bass guitar on his own. Later, he completed his specialty studies of this instrument at Vilnius Conservatory (2000) and Vilnius College (2007). Since 1994 taught at B. Dvarion's ten-year music school.
At the beginning, he made music by playing in independent groups. He started his professional career in 1981. with the quartet of his teacher Vladimir Chekasin. 1982-1989 was a member of the Petros Vyšniauskas Quartet. Later he joined musicians of various directions. He associated his career with the quintet "Gone With Jazz", the quartet "Vilnius Jazz", the collective "Lithuanian Art Orchestra". The extent of his creative interests is shown by his collaboration with the Indian music ensemble "Svara" (2001) and the group "Vilniaus Mušamieji" (2003). He has also played folk jazz with the national music band Sutaras, academic music with the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra.
in 1997 made his debut as a leader with his own jazz group "Shinkarenko Jazz 4", which became the basis for the later created "Jazz 5", "Jazz 7", performing L. Šinkarenko's original compositions. In addition to activities in his own groups, he plays music with the "Lithuanian Jazz Trio" (Šinkarenka, Vytautas Labutis, Arvydas Jofė), Dainius Pulauskas' group. Since 1977 creates jazz compositions, 3 of which are included in the collection of Lithuanian jazz themes "From blues to conventional" (2013). Recorded more than 60 music albums. Released original albums: "Saggitarius" (1997, with "Jazz 4"), "Le Bolero" (2001, with "Jazz 7"), "Vitas Gerulaitis. Remembrance in Jazz" (2004), "Island" (2011, with "Jazz 5"), "My Favorite Songs" (2017), "to be continued" (2005, co-author, with "Lithuanian Jazz Trio").in 1994 created the music (co-author) for the film "It's snowing in Paradise, too" directed by A. Juzėnas. Since 2001 The town of Neringa organizes a jazz festival every year, from 2012 to 2015. organized the Druskininkai Jazz Festival.
