I am a theatre director of the young generation, finished my studies at the Lithuanian Academy for Music and Theatre (under supervision of Oskaras Korsunovas) and also an assistant director in the Lithuanian National Opera Theatre since 2018. I was invited to participate in the "Nowy Teatr" Summer camp ( 2021 Warsaw, Poland) and "EOALB" Experimental Opera Laboratory training ( 2020 Mastricht, The Netherlands).
Before taking up theatre directing I was studying music in Juozas Naujalis Music Gymnasium and later on conducting in the Lithuanian Academy.
My aim is to connect the knowledge and ideas of music and theatre in both my practice as a director as well as a directorial assistant by working with various artists within the stagings of Lithuanian National Opera. One of the most notable productions I had a privilege to work with was G. Puccini’s “Turandot” directed by Robert Wilson, R. Strauss “Der Rosenkavalier” directed by Damiano Michieletto among many other operas.
In December of 2021, LNOBT hosted the premiere of my opera for children “Mamma Moo". Currently, I am also working on the process of contemporary opera (working title "The Seven Meters Long Last Word", composer D.Digimas, libretto P.Pukytė). With this work we won the contemporary opera competition "Genome" (organizers Operomania and LNOBT).
I am actively participating in various processes of art making, both as a performer and as a producer collaborating with artists from different fields. Take a look at what I've done so far.
