The basis of the musical language of chamber works is the linear development of small melodic motifs in all vertical layers. Thus, the polyphonic type of texture dominates these works. Often individual parts of the work are based on episodes of controlled aleatorics or simply become a composition of ostinato layers. A close connection between text and music is important in vocal and choral work. Here, the poetic text directly affects the rhythm, and raising and expanding the meaningful accents of the text often leads to a change of meter and the entire shape of the piece.
