is one of the most prominent Lithuanian violists, chamber music performer, and pedagogue. His creative activity covers a wide field from ancient, classicism to avant-garde music. G. Dačinskas studied at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater under prof. Petro Radzevičius and Salzburg University Mozarteum prof. in Thomas Riebl's class. He devotes most of his creative activities to the Čiurlionis Quartet of the Lithuanian National Philharmonic, where he has been playing since 2003. With this collective, they participated in such festivals as Prague Spring, Berliner Festwochen, Gent Festival van Vlaanderen, Janačkuv Mai, Moravian Autumn, Schleswig-Holstein, Meranofest, Europamusicale, Amadeo, St. Magnus and others, and also regularly performs at all the biggest Lithuanian festivals and the most important concert halls. He attaches great importance to the dissemination of Lithuanian music in Lithuania and the world, constantly includes it in concert programs in the country and in foreign countries, such as Germany, Sweden, Norway, Estonia, Latvia, Poland, Italy, Canada, Russia, UAE, USA, Mexico, Japan, China etc.
G. Dačinskas performed solo with the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra, Klaipėda Chamber Orchestra, Šiauliai Chamber Orchestra, Gaida Festival Ensemble, Salzburg Orchestra Pro Musica, University Mozarteum Symphony Orchestra and others. Since 1998 participated in the activities of the Vilnius New Music Ensemble, performed in such ensembles as Trio Advance, Camerata Salzburg, Darmstadt State Opera, etc. Gediminas Dačinskas constantly adds contemporary or rarely performed opus to his repertoire alongside well-known works, and publishes them on CD and radio recordings.
Since 2009 teaches at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater, and has also conducted master classes in Lithuania, Mexico, and Switzerland
