The Polish Song and Dance Ensemble "Vilija" - a member of Vilnius Cultural Center is the oldest Polish ensemble in the Vilnius region. It was founded in 1955 on the initiative of graduates of Polish schools.
Since its first days of activity, the ensemble has been and still remains the guardian of folk traditions and folklore of Poland. Vilija became an integral part of the history of the Polish nation, with its rich traditions, exceptional repertoire and a variety of national clothes.The ensemble has grown a number of choreographers, choreographers and musicians who, based on the knowledge and experience of the ensemble, later founded their own collectives and have succeeded in leading them up to now., the collective has about 150 members. There are three art groups: dancers, choruses and chapels.
Since 2004, Vilija has established two children's dance groups and a children's choir.
The ensemble's repertoire includes folk dance and song suites, Polish folk dances and folklore of Vilnius region in almost all Polish regions.
Vilija actively participates in national and international festivals and competitions.
Throughout its history, the ensemble has performed more than 1500 concerts in various cities of Lithuania, Poland, Latvia, Germany, the Czech Republic, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Italy, Macedonia and Greece.
