Ieva Baltrėnaitė introduces herself as a clothing detective. Having completed textile art and design studies at the Vilnius Academy of Fine Arts, she is currently conducting artistic research in doctoral studies in art. One of the main objects of her research is Lithuanian women's clothes from 1940-1970 and their stories. The artist does not analyze fashion or style changes in the mentioned period, but delves into the stories of clothes and the unique history of the region, which she tells in the context of vintage textile objects. While researching clothes (mostly dresses), Ieva Baltrėnaitė writes a detective art thesis and creates works of visual art, literary works, costumes for the theater.
