Virtuoso saxophonist and clarinetist, jazz educator, jazz historian and head of the jazz department of the Latvian Music Academy. He has been regularly recording and performing with the well-known Latvian musicians such as Raimonds Raubishko, Uldis Marhilevichs, Raimonds Macats, Deniss Pashkevich and many others.
