JONĖ KALIŪNAITĖ, a hard-working and intensively performing viola virtuoso, gives recitals, plays in chamber ensembles, and performs with the Philharmonie Südwestfalen orchestra, Schleswig-Holstein, and Bonn youth ensembles. Although she has been living in Germany for several years, she often appears as a soloist with the main orchestras and ensembles of our country. In addition, the performer conducts master classes in Spain, South Korea, Bulgaria, and England. Jonė is a professor at the Saarbrücken University of Applied Sciences. In one interview, J. Kaliūnaitė said: “I became a professor because I had an extraordinary professor.” With such respect and inspiration, she spoke about the legendary professor Petras Radzevičius, with whom she studied at the M. K. Čiurlionis National School of Arts from the age of 15, and later at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre.
