Born in Katowice in a family with musical traditions. He is a graduate of PSM I and II degree im. Fryderyk Chopin in Opole in the class of mgr Anna Hryniów-Kościów and prof. Stanisław Firlej. In 2011, he graduated with honors from the Academy of Music in Łódź in the class of prof. Stanisław Firlej. In the years 2009 - 2012 he also studied at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Mannheim under the supervision of prof. Michael Flaksman and prof. Jelena Ocic. Roberto Trainini also had a great influence on his artistic development.Krzysztof Karpeta's great passion is chamber music. He is the founder and member of the Polish Cello Quartet - the only cello quartet in Poland that performs pieces originally written for this composition. The ensemble cooperates with outstanding musicians and composers from Poland and abroad. In 2008, together with an outstanding Polish pianist, Michał Rot, he created the band Reger Duo. The ensemble has had many successes (including a distinction and a special prize for the best performance of a Polish composer's work at the International Chamber Music Competition, Łódź 2010). Both the Polish Cello Quartet and the Reger Duo have been very active in the country and abroad in recent years, disseminating little-known chamber works by various composers.In the years 2010-2012 Krzysztof Karpeta was concertmaster in the Mannheimer Philharmoniker orchestra. He was also a member of the Landesjugendorchester Rheinland-Pfalz, the Philharmonie der Nationen and the CEI Youth Orchestra. Currently, he is the concertmaster of the cello group of the Polish Baltic Philharmonic in Gdańsk. As a soloist, he performed with such orchestras as: Capella Cracoviensis, Kalisz Philharmonic, Częstochowa Philharmonic, Rzeszów Philharmonic, Łódź Philharmonic, Lower Silesian Philharmonic, Wrocław Chamber Orchestra Leopoldinum, Universitaet Orchester Mannheim. As a chamber musician, he has collaborated with with Bartłomiej Nizioł, Giovanni Sollima, Arto Noras, Mats Lidström, Agata Szymczewska, José Gallardo, Vladimir Mendelssohn, Victor Chestopal, Robert Kowalski. As a chamber musician, he performed at such festivals as: "Forum Musicum", "Wratislavia Cantans", "Heidelberger Kammermusik Festival", "MurciArt Festival", "Jazztopad", "Kammermusik Festival Schiermonnikoog". He has participated in recordings for CD Accord, DUX, Musicon and Chandos.Krzysztof Karpeta also develops his talent in early music. Since 2007, he has been exploring the secrets of playing the viola da gamba and violone. Together with his wife, he creates the Fernabucco gamba duo, which in 2012 won the 2nd prize at the International Early Music Competition in Żory. Working with such musicians as Mark Caudle, Petr Wagner, Brent Wissick, he performed at many festivals, including: "Settembre in Musica" in Italy, "Forum Musicum", "Wratislavia Cantans", "International Bach Festival" in Świdnica.Since 2014, together with the Polish Cello Quartet, he has organized the International Cello Academy in Nysa every year. The Cello Academy brings together eminent professors from abroad and a large group of young cello students, actively promoting chamber music written for cello ensembles.In 2014, he received a distinction for outstanding achievements in the field of art awarded by the Chapter of the Scholarship. Jerzy Grotowski, operating within the framework of the Wrocław Scholarship Program. Krzysztof Karpeta is a lecturer at the Academy of Music in Wrocław, where in 2017 he obtained the title of Doctor of Arts.
