The artist was born in Bystrzyca Kłodzka. Since 1965 he has lived in Wrocław. Educated at the High School of Fine Arts (1965-1970), studied at the Faculty of Philology of the University of Wrocław - specialization: theater studies. From the beginning of his studies, he has been associated with the alternative theater movement and student culture. More closely associated with the Pirsens, Kalambur and Misterium theaters, also with workshops at the Laboratorium Theater (1974-1975): Stanley Ścierski, Rena Mirecka, André Gregory. He has been a member of ZPAP since 1992. His artistic debut includes costumes, decorations and a poster for the play Hercules and the Augean Stables by Friedrich Dürrenmatt - premiere on the stage of Kalambura, April 1973.
