sometimes called simply Sabrina - Italian singer, photo model, actress and TV presenter, who has sold over 20 million music records. The song "Boys (Summertime Love)" released in 1987 reached the top of many European charts. In 1984,
Sabrina became a photo model when she won a beauty contest organized in Liguria. In the same year, she appeared on television for the first time, and in 1986 she released the single in English "Sexy Girl". This became popular in her homeland and drew attention to Sabrina in neighboring countries. In 1987, her debut album "Sabrina" was released, in which all the songs were also recorded in English. The song "Boys (Summertime Love)" from it became a big hit throughout Europe (1st place in France and Switzerland, 5th place in the United Kingdom) and became the "calling card" of the artist herself. In total, more than 1.5 million copies of the single were sold, and the provocative video clip, filmed in a swimming pool, turned Sabrina into a real "sex symbol".
In 1988, her second album "Super Sabrina" was released, and songs such as "All of Me (Boy Oh Boy)", "My Chico" and "Like a Yo-Yo" allowed her to remain one of the most popular artists of that year. She performed in many European countries, and also starred in the film "Fratelli d'Italia".
In 1991, she recorded a duet with Jo Squillo "Siamo donne" - her first song in Italian, which she also performed at the Sanremo Music Festival that year. For her third album "Over the Pop", Sabrina wrote several songs herself, but her desire to distance herself from her overly sexual image caused a conflict with the production company. As a result, there was much less promotion, and the album and individual singles were commercial failures.
After a divorce from her producers, in 1994-95 Sabrina released several songs, and in 1996 she opened her own recording studio and recorded her first album in Italian, "Maschio dove sei", in which the disco style was replaced by more pop-rock music. The songs were well received by critics, but the interest of the audience was low. At the same time, Sabrina created her first role in the theater, in the comedy "I cavalieri della Tavola Rotonda" and hosted the television game show "Il mercante in fiera". After 2000, Sabrina often performed with other stars of the 70s, performing her old songs. In 2008, she released the double album "Erase/Rewind", which included newly performed versions of her most famous songs and new compositions, and in 2010, together with another star of that period, Samantha Fox, she recorded a remake of the Blondie hit "Call Me".
