Sam Williams is a multidisciplinary artist based in London, England. His practice spans moving-image, collage, choreography, and text. He is currently a resident at Somerset House Studios and has exhibited and screened his work at prominent institutions such as Arnolfini, Baltic39, Siobhan Davies Dance, Somerset House, Tate Britain, Studio Voltaire, and South Kiosk in the UK, as well as internationally at venues like She Will (Norway), Kino Arsenal, Akademie der Kunst, Tanzhalle Wisenberg, and B3 Biennale in Germany.
Williams's ongoing research explores themes of multi-species entanglements, ecological systems, bodies-as-worlds, and folk mythologies. These ideas inform his vision for non-human-centric ways of living in the present and future. His Salvage Rhythms series combines performance, film, text, and collage to investigate what humans can learn from observing interspecies relationships. Notably, his choreographic installation at Chisenhale Gallery featured dancers Temitope Ajose, Karen Callaghan, and Iro Costello alongside a soundscape created with musician Roly Porter.
