Pandit Sugat Bhaduri
Sugato Bhaduri, one of the most famous Indian mandolinists of our time, began his musical journey at an early age. He began studying vocal music with his uncle and soon joined A.I.R. (All India Radio) on air as a child performer.
While in college, he studied the basics of western music on the mandolin. After graduating from exact sciences, he turned to Indian classical music Hindustani and studied for 17 years with the famous sarodist pt. T. N. Majumder, he was fortunate enough to attend training under the legend of Indian music, Ustad Ali Akbar Khan.
In 2001, Sugato Bhaduri received the prestigious Surmani title from the organization Sur-Singar Samsad (Mumbai, Maharashtra), and in 2012, the prestigious Gandharva Ratna award from the memorial Sangeet Samraat Ustad Alladiya (Kolhapur, Maharashtra).
Since 2005, Sugato has been actively performing in Europe and participating in various prestigious international music festivals and concerts. He plays regularly at all the top ranked festivals across India.
Sugato is able to reveal the emotion of Indian classical music with subtlety and depth while playing the western mandolin.
