"Kanklės Extended" is an electroacoustic project by composer and musician Toma Čepaitė, in which she delves into the sonic qualities of traditional twelve-stringed kanklės and their possibilities, using various and unconventional forms of sound extraction, extended playing techniques and electronic effects.
Traditional cancellos are inseparable from folk identity in the collective consciousness. This project seeks to bring the instrument into the field of experimental creativity - exploring it as an instrument or sound source with its own unique sonic qualities, seeking new and unexpected forms of sound, revealing the instrument's uniqueness in new contexts.
The original compositions and improvisations create impressionistic moods and soundscapes, musical layers and textures, and explore the relationship between noise and meditative beauty.
