Druskomanija is one of the longest-running contemporary music festivals in Lithuania. Established as the Druskininkai Youth Chamber Music Days in 1985, it has nurtured a generation of composers.
Every year, the festival invites you to get acquainted with the latest works of young Lithuanian musicians. It offers a unique opportunity for emerging composers to share their creative ideas with composers of different generations, styles and genres, and to prepare professional premieres of their works together with musicians.
Druscomania is characterised by its open approach to the multiplicity of styles and genres and their boundaries: academic music, experiments, electronic works, free improvisations, sound art, performances, interdisciplinary projects and many other manifestations of contemporary music.
This year's theme is "Composers' Dances", a tribute to the eternally old and eternally young Saltcomania, celebrating its 40th edition. In dance we are free, in dance we merge with the music and become part of a common movement. This year's programme is an attempt to reveal this eternal dance, which combines the history of the festival and the current events, the frenzy of youth and the restraint of experience. "Druskomania is one grandiose forty years of the conductor's bridge, one high leap, which we invite all those who have taken part in it, are taking part in it or will take part in it, to remember.
