Sounds, smells and senses performance "Mother of Winds" for people with visual impairment, or those who want to see the world in a different way.
Table Theatre invites you to a performance of sounds, smells and senses, to see the world in a different way from the perspective of darkness, not with your eyes, but with your other senses - your ears, your nose, your fingertips, and most importantly, your heart.
The story of the third brother, based on an old Baltic saga, who sets off in search of his fortune, symbolised in the saga by the beloved maiden - or his second Sun - is followed by two narrators - the voice-over artists of the story. Step by step, adventure by adventure, they embark with the audience on a journey full of sounds, scents and the magic of the winds, taking them safely through meadows and forests, across rivers, up and down to the depths. But on one condition - the brave young viewers go on this journey blindfolded. And not just any journey, but touching, feeling, experiencing, discovering the world in the dark. What makes it different? What does it smell like, sound like? Is it hard to find your way around it? And finally, what does it mean to be blind?
As always in the Stalo Theatre, the performance features actor-controlled objects. In this performance, they come straight from the modern kitchen, although their purpose on stage is to "play" the characters of an old Baltic saga. The audience can touch them, smell them, guess them. The verbal fabric of the narrative is also multi-layered - the creators of the performance ingeniously enrich the narrative text, which is redolent of the sacred, with fun and unexpected preludes to the words, typical of Lithuanian sutartsines. According to the director, Stalo Theatre dedicates the play "Motė Vėjų Motė" to people with visual impairments or those who want to know the world in a different way. It is therefore open to school-age viewers, people with sight, low vision or no sight at all. They will experience that darkness can be both hidden and open, not just a ghostly glimmer but also a sound.
The renovation of the performance is financed by Vilnius City Municipality
