The universal Lithuanian poet Sigit Geda would have turned 80 this year. In memory of the genius creator and in order to commemorate this honorable anniversary, the Kaunas piano trio and baritone Giedrius Prunskus prepared a program that reflects S. Geda's wide range of interests and responds to his unique work.
"S. Geda is a poet of mythical memory who modernized Lithuanian poetry. He created a unique artistic world in which myth, religion, culture, literature, nature, history and human everyday life merged. In his poetry, there is a constant connection between what was in prehistoric times and today. Earth, space and man are perceived here as equal partners, a song sung to life is constantly heard. His vital man, as it were, extends the work of God, multiplies and begets the being with a tireless word that magically changes the action of reality. It is a manifestation of the will to live in Lithuanian literature", - this is how literary scholar Kęstutis Nastopka speaks about S. Geda's work.
