Aldona Jonuškaitė-Šaltenienė's ceramics are distinguished by their conceptuality, unity of idea and form, associativity, expression, expressive texture, elements of the grotesque, sculptural sculpture, and brightly-coloured glazes. After graduating from the Lithuanian Art Institute in 1967, Aldona taught at the Institute from 1989 to 2011 (she became an associate professor in 1992). Aldona created ceramic compositions for interiors, decorative panels and installations, sculpted zoomorphic figures and their compositions. She has been participating in exhibitions since 1970. Awards. Arvydas Šaltenyas' work is dominated by dynamic and static compositions, colouristic, textural gesture painting and restrained monochromy of grey and white, sketchy capturing of the impressions of reality, and apt and sometimes grotesque drawing. The painter graduated from the Lithuanian Art Institute in 1970, taught at the Vilnius Children's and Evening Art School in 1971-87, lectured at the Lithuanian Art Institute in 1975-81 and since 1988, head of the Painting Department in 1989-94 and since 2018, Rector in 1994-2004, Vice-Rector for Arts and Science in 2004-10, and for Art in 2010-14; Professor (2003). Arvydas has painted landscapes of his homeland, church villages, towns, nameless passengers on buses and trains, portraits, still lifes. The painter has been participating in exhibitions in Lithuania and abroad since 1972.Awards. The Vyrautas Valiušys Ceramics Museum (Utenio a. 3, Utena) will be open until 20 August.
