Dive into a world of beauty, where the serene melodies of the flute intertwine with the nocturnal song of the nightingale, and the gentle sounds of the ancient harp invite you to slip into silence. Compositions from the Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque eras will be combined with natural themes and a meditative mood. The audience will hear works by Perotin, Guillaume de Machaut, Van Eyck, J.M. Hotteterre and other composers, pilgrim songs from the Cantigas de Santa Maria, traditional Irish music and improvisations on the ancient harp.
"Why do you wake me up before dawn, gentle nightingale? Do you bring word that the one my heart admires is back?" (From J.B. De Bousset).
The harp. This is a copy of the 15th century harp, also known as the Gothic or early Renaissance harp. Such harps are extremely rare today and are more often found in museum exhibitions or in old paintings, frescoes or manuscripts. In the past, they were used by wandering poets and harpists at European courts.
