From 1635 to 1637, Rigatti was the choir conductor at Udine Cathedral. Later he became a priest in Venice, where he sang at St. Mark's Cathedral and taught singing at one of the conservatories in Venice. In 1646, he led music for the Patriarch of Venice. At just 20 years old, Rigatti was highly respected as an exceptional church composer. At that time, it was the last years of Monteverdi's life in Venice.
