Bass_4 "Premiere"
"Walking in the forest along untrodden paths, we find ourselves among tall trees and thick bushes. The air is a little chilly, and we smell the damp soil. When we accidentally touch the needle-like juniper needles with our hand, a whiff of spicy aroma greets us. The moment stops; for a split second, the scent overwhelms all other senses and takes us back to the memories of junipers. A second becomes eternal after a few berries have been picked and crushed between the fingers. You no longer know what time it is or what day it is, you just move on, because time has disappeared in a quarter", wrote composer Digim in the annotation of Juniper reminiscent.
In this and other works that take you beyond time, into worlds of memory or dreams, 2024 will see the beginning of a new era. Bass_4 will immerse you in the world of the double bass quartet Bass_4 on 4 December at St Catherine's Church.
This is a quartet of four young, talented musicians who go beyond the usual boundaries of the instrument. Bass_4 transforms the double bass not only into an accompaniment instrument, but also into an exceptional solo instrument that can virtuosically reveal a piece of music, and take the listener on a journey of unique sounds that have never been experienced before.
The members of the quartet are members of the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra, laureates of international competitions, soloists and members of various ensembles, performing symphonic and chamber music both in Lithuania and abroad.
