Bass_4 is a project of four young musicians who aim to blur the boundaries between classical, tango and popular music.

Bass_4 was formed in 2022 and is the only quartet in Lithuania that performs music with four double basses. The idea of this quartet was inspired by the desire to break standards, to promote and show the uniqueness of the double bass - that it can be heard not only in an orchestra, but also as a wonderful solo instrument, which has a lot of sound colours, rich timbres and virtuosic possibilities.

The members of this quartet are laureates of international competitions, playing solo, in various ensembles, as well as participating in various projects, performing symphonic and chamber music on both Lithuanian and foreign stages. The double bassists have not only been playing together in the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra for many years, but they are also good friends who know each other very well.
