The star of this evening is Vilimas Norkūnas, one of the most prominent performers of early music in Lithuania today.
Even after a 600-year hiatus, an organet from the time of Vytautas the Great's wife Oona returns to Lithuania! V. Norkūnas will use the organ and the grand organ to reveal the history of the organ from the Middle Ages to the early Baroque. This is a unique and the only concert programme of its kind in Lithuania, featuring a solo programme on organ and organ, with works from the Robertsbridge and Faenza codices, the Buxheimer and Braunsberg Tablature, the Sapiegas Album, and works by composers Girolamo Cavazzoni, Luzzasco Luzzaschi, Girolamo Frescobaldi, Johann Jacob Froberger.
Ancient music enchants with its unique beauty and authenticity, giving listeners the opportunity to feel the spirit of bygone eras. Filled with historical grandeur and subtle elegance, this will be a special evening at the Alanta Music Festival.
