2025 begins with a visualised musical and literary programme CHIURLIONIO'S MEMORIES, dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the birth of the composer and painter M. K. Čiurlionis. The visualisations of actor Dainius Svobonas, Kaunas music ensemble Ainiai and video artist Karolis Bratkauskas will bring to life the spirit of Čiurlionis through his harmonised songs, which will be performed by soloists Justina Tomkutė-Petraitienė and Rytis Janilionis. The composer Donatas Zakaras has created colourful musical arrangements and creative touches for Čiurlionis' songs, while the music is punctuated by texts and visualisations of poets K. Bradūnas, J. Degutytė, A. Nyka-Niliūnas, J. Vaičiūnaitė, S. Geda, S. Nėries and others, growing out of the rarely seen letters - initials - created by Čiurlionis. The premiere of the programme will take place at Kaunas Cinema Centre "Romuva" on 24 January at 6 pm. It is like a ritual, a cycle of echoes or a pyramid built of music, poetry, painting, with Čiurlionis at the top, looking down on us from the high towers of the sky.
