XIII International M. K. Čiurlionis Music Festival presents one of the most outstanding guitar ensembles in the Baltic States - BALTIC GUITAR QUARTET. "Four Guitars - One Soul" - the quartet's eloquent credo speaks for itself. The leading guitar ensemble in the Baltics impresses with its sensitive, colourful and subtle music making. According to musicologist Viktoras Gerulaitis, the ensemble has another unique feature - a sense of humour, which, he says, is not found in every chamber ensemble.
The Cloud Roads concert will combine Lithuanian music traditions and modern arrangements. The timbre and harmonies of the guitars will give Čiurlionis's music a new, modern twist and an unexpected sound. The concert will also feature works by other well-known composers - F. Latėnas, J. Švedas, E. Elgar and Ch. Ruebens, which, together with Čiurlionis' music, will create a rich and varied musical journey. Each of these works will enrich the programme with its own unique voice, allowing the audience to experience how the sounds of different eras and musical styles seamlessly merge with the spirit of Čiurlionis' work and open up new interpretations.
