This evening is an open space where young creators invite us to listen to their world. A world full of new ideas, emotions, experiments and courage.
This is a unique opportunity to experience what contemporary poetry sounds like, and to find out what the young up-and-coming poets are living about, what themes are important to them, and how they are expressing their feelings, thoughts and experiences. We will hear poems that will give us a glimpse into the world of today's younger generation, a world full of questions, explorations and surprises, and a unique musical experience will complement the bold thoughts.
Young poets Uršulė Toleikytė, Linas Daugėla and Alina Borzenkaitė will present their work, which will not only invite you to reflect, but will also captivate you with its boldness, authenticity and contemporary insights.
"Poetry as a self-creation and re-creation is a quite significant motif. However, I perceive the "I" through a relationship, the intersubjectivity mentioned above is close to me. I am in a relationship with inner labyrinths, my body, another person, an animal, liminal experiences, existing or created worlds, etc.," says the poet Uršulė Toleikytė.
The poets' works will be intertwined with the experimental music of the sound artist Tadas Greičiūnas, which will liberate the word and create a remarkable atmosphere - an atmosphere in which poetry and music become a single, ever changing form of creative freedom.
This is not just a poetry reading, it is a celebration of youthful creativity, where you can experience how boldly young poets are moving into the future and how contemporary music gives new inspiration to the word.
This event is part of the Music Magic Club's series of events "Stained Glass of Lines and Music". Starting on 23 February, on Sunday afternoons at 16:00 in the cosy chamber hall, poetry is read by some of Lithuania's most renowned readers, actors and the poets themselves, accompanied by live music in a variety of interpretations. In addition to poetry readings, we also enjoy sung poetry events.
