Each performance of pianist Mūza Rubackytė at the Pažaislis Music Festival is an exceptional musical event that attracts classical music fans. The pianist, who lives in Lithuania, France and Switzerland, is a laureate of the international Ferenc Liszt and Béla Bartók competitions in Budapest, as well as the Les Grand Maîtres Français French Music Competition. She actively performs all over the world, participates in the juries of international competitions, teaches at the most famous conservatories and directs masterclasses.
M. Rubackytė is not only a pianist, but also a prominent cultural personality, who has received numerous awards for the promotion of Lithuanian culture. She is a recipient of the Grand Duke of Lithuania's Commander's Cross of the Order of Gediminas, the Lithuanian National Prize for Culture and Art, the Government Prize and the Hungarian Ministry of Culture's Pro Cultura Hungarica Prize. Her album of works by Leopold Godowski and Karol Szymanowski won the international Diapason d'Or award and the audience prize "ffff Event".
This evening she will present her newest programme "From the Baltic to the Adriatic", which will bring together the musical colours of different epochs and lands. The concert will feature three preludes and two nocturnes by Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis, the second movement of Godowski's Sonata in E minor and Raminta Šerkšnytė's "Fairy Tale" for piano. The evening will culminate with Liszt's opuses from the cycles "The Second Year of Wanderings: Italy" and "The Third Year of Wanderings: Rome", as well as the magnificent Sonata in B minor.
