According to legend, Gediminas, the founder of the city of Vilnius, had a dream about the Iron Wolf and the rise of the Lithuanian capital to the world during his royal hunt in early autumn. It is for this reason that the Day of the Grand Duke Gediminas of Lithuania is traditionally celebrated at the end of September. On this occasion, Vilnius town hall on September 29. 6 p.m. invites visitors to an exclusive event crowning Vilnius' 700-year anniversary concert - the mystery DEDICATION TO GEDIMIN: THE LAST RITE OF THE PAGONS.
During the event, a unique piece of music performed on rare occasions - Broniaus Kutavičius' oratorio "The Last Rites of the Pagans" for soprano, choir, horns and organ will be played. Musicologist Jūratė Katinaitė will present the oratorio of B. Kutavičius and his work, excerpts from the letters of Duke Gediminas will be read by actor Vytautas Rumšas senior
