A fresh and gentle breeze of music will reach music lovers from South America - on 29 April, the young Brazilian singer Dora Morelenbaum, who is gaining more and more attention, will perform in Vilnius, at St Catherine's Church.
Dora Morelenbaum, who will be taking to the Lithuanian stage for the first time, is a young vocalist, guitarist and songwriter who has been increasingly discussed in the Brazilian (and not only Brazilian) music media for the past few years and who has made a name for herself in the line-up of a well-known band from this country.
Dora Morelenbaum is a member of Bala Desejo, a band formed by a group of friends during the pandemic, which quickly became a music sensation in the country, and won a Latin American Grammy Award, with her debut album "SIM SIM SIM" being voted the best contemporary pop album recorded in Portuguese. Outside the country, Dora Morelenbaum is pursuing a successful solo career with lighter, dreamier songs.
Her debut mini-album Vento De Beirada was well received, inviting you to immerse yourself in the sensual world of her music. Critics say that the record shows a new approach, but also a respect for the older generation of Brazilian stars such as Gal Costa and Maria Bethania.
In the music world, the singer has already been hailed as one of the most prominent voices of the Brazilian new wave. "It's brand new music, but it sounds as if it's familiar" is how music lovers who attend her concerts describe her.
