The play about Lazdynai Pelėda is a work that includes biographical facts and excerpts from the work of the two writers who signed this pseudonym, the Ivanauskaičius sisters. Lazdynų Pelėda (writers Sofija Ivanauskaitė-Pšibiliauskienė (1867–1926) and Marija Ivanauskaitė-Lastauskienė (1872–1957)) are talented creators, feminists of the time, who wrote about the aristocratic culture of the manor, relevant topics of that time and the role of women. The play is a project born from the initiative of two well-known actors, Neringa Varnelytė and Vitalija Mockevičiūtė, which talks about the classics of Lithuanian literature in a language relevant to young people.
"From the scant details of the sisters' biographies that have survived, we wanted to recreate the image of their complicated, femininely sad (both sisters' families broke up), but intriguing life with literary creations and the meaning of their activities. It is interesting to examine the facts and try to take a deeper and more detailed look at the place in the sisters' creative and personal lives occupied by the luminary of Lithuanian culture Povilas Višinskis, who had a considerable influence on the personalities and work of Žemaitė and Šatrija Ragana.
