Event description
After selling out two concerts in one day at Jazz Cellar 11 in 2023, Viktorija Gečytė returns to the club scene. And with her comes an impressive line-up - the enchanting and indifferent pianist Dmitry Golovanov, the Belarusian double bassist Aliaksey Kryshtal, who has firmly established himself on the Lithuanian jazz scene, and Viktorija's long-time scene partner, French drummer Mourad Benhammou.
Viktorija Gečytė is a Lithuanian jazz singer based in Paris, beloved by listeners and jazz critics alike for her sophisticated phrasing, her controversial presentation of the music, and her infectious swing.
Bred by the New York jazz scene during her years in the US, Victoria continues to follow the best traditions of jazz, emphasising the importance of rhythm and swing.
In France, Victoria is a regular collaborator with big bands, and has been invited by the renowned Frankfurt Radio Big Band to represent Germany for two years in a row.
Victoria is the recipient of the Sarah Vaughan Competition, having been a finalist in the final two times.
