The exhibition features symbols of Lithuanian, Latvian and Estonian statehood - state awards: orders, medals, chains of orders. This exhibition not only aims to present historically and aesthetically valuable awards, but also covers a broader historical context and weaves threads with the present through state symbols. The symbols, which are significant for each of the Baltic States, are also presented along with the biographies of the prominent historical figures who were awarded them - the founders of the Baltic States and the defenders of freedom. This reveals the development of the history of statehood in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, the peculiarities of diplomacy between the wars and the changing international situation in Europe. Visitors will see the original Latvian and Estonian Presidential Chains, the Order of Vytautas the Great with the Golden Chain, and the signs of honour and appreciation of other prominent European politicians of the time. The valuable collection of phaleristics, the largest in the region, has been amassed since 1965 by the collector Vilius Kavaliauskas, an honorary member of the Council of the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania, who has assisted in the enrichment of the collections of the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania Museum and provided valuable advice. V. Kavaliauskas actualized the significance of awards as symbols, accumulated valuable iconographic material - photographs, documents.
