Be Happy! State Theatre from Odessa!
On Friday, 28 March, in the Great Hall of the Klaipėda Fishermen's Palace, an insanely hilarious comedy straight from Odessa - "Be Happy!" (
Deribasovskaya, Privoz, NEP (New Economic Policy), love, criminal investigations, fish cutlets and of course Yiddish - because that's the language spoken by a third of Odessa in the last century.
Naturally, a play from Odessa cannot take place without the Odyssean folklore that is unique to the city, which is why two people come to Odessa, a father and son, straight from New York. And while an old friend persuades his father to form a suspicious "gešeft", the young folklore seeker turns not to the university but directly to Privoz, where he meets...
"Be happy!" - is a romantic story of love and fish cutlets, filled with Odessa's humor and joyful dancing.
