Konrad Jarnot, one of the most renowned performers of vocal chamber music and professor at the Robert Schumann School of Music in Düsseldorf, is coming to Vilnius. He will give a masterclass for Lithuanian singers and on 3 February he and the participants will give a public concert on the art of song. Together with pianist Gust Raudonium, Konrad Jarnot will perform Richard Strauss's song cycle "Letzte Blätter" ("Last Pages").
This is the second visit to Lithuania by the world-famous singer - in 2024. At the 1st Festival of the Art of Song, together with pianist Gustu Raudonium, Jarnot gave an unforgettable recital "Between Worlds" for the audience of the Organum Hall.
The Jarnot Masterclasses are a unique opportunity for singers to develop their skills in the field of chamber singing. Jarnot's pedagogical experience, combined with his artistic achievements, provides a wonderful creative environment in which each participant can discover and expand his or her vocal abilities, and gain a better understanding of the repertoire of vocal chamber music and the art of its interpretation. British baritone Konrad Jarnot is one of the most sought-after singers of his generation, who has become a leader in the interpretation of the Lied genre in an international environment. He gives masterclasses in Europe and Japan and is a jury member of major international singing competitions. Mr Jarnot studied singing at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London with Professor Rudolf Piernay and attended the Guildhall Opera School, where he graduated with distinction. He studied at the Wigmore Hall in London, the Hugo Wolf Academy in Stuttgart and the J.S. Bach Academy with Helmut Rilling. In 1998 he completed his studies with Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau. In 2000 he won first prize at the ARD International Music Competition in Munich, Germany's most important international competition. Jarnot has given recitals at the world's most famous concert halls, including the Lincoln Center in New York, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Konzerthaus in Vienna, the Wigmore Hall in London, and many others.
Pianist Gustas Raudonius will perform at the 2015 National Concerts in Prague. He graduated from the National Čiurlionis School of Arts with a degree in piano with a faculty of composition, received his Bachelor's degree in piano from the VMU Academy of Music in the class of associate professor Donaldas Raitis (2019), and completed his Master's degree in Lied Art at the R. Schumann University of Music Düsseldorf in the class of Prof. Lisa Eisner-Smirnova and Prof. Hans Eijsackers. Since 2024 he has been working as a tutor at this school. In 2022 he recorded with soprano Julia Wirth and mezzo-soprano Valerie Eickhoff for the German national broadcaster SWR a recording of R. Schumann and O. Messiaen song cycles. In 2024, with Lithuanian baritone Tomas Kildišius, he won the Grand Prix at the prestigious N. and L. Boulanger Lied Competition in Paris. The latest work of Tomas and Gustas is a newly released CD of works by V. Klova and F. Bajoras.
