Mixing indie and art rock, post-punk, noise experiments, this San Francisco band is loved by both music critics and ordinary listeners for its diverse and high-quality arrangements. Deerhood's stylistic quirks are reflected in their participation in events as diverse as the Coastal Jazz Festival in Vancouver and the San Francisco International Film Festival.

Starting their career in 1994 as an improvisational noise-punk band, they are still closely linked to this creative vein: a telling fact of Deerhoof's history: an improvisational noise performance in 2015 at the CERN Hardon accelerator in Switzerland, which also reflects the band's innovative and playful approach to their work.
