Samba Me is a globe-trotting world music band, rooted in Brazilian musical traditions. The mastery of four dedicated improvising musicians, their interplay, melodious heartwarming songs and hot rhythms - Maracatú, Samba, Ijexá, Choro, Jongo, Baião, Candomblé, etc. - engage the audience in an act of authentic musical expression. Their concerts are always dynamic, from the calm, warming bossa nova to the slightly wild moments of the drum show, when not only the musicians, but also the audience, can free themselves from the shackles of "normality" and completely relax and open their imagination.
Vocalist, composer, lyricist and producer, who met her Brazilian colleagues during her music studies in the Netherlands. Represented by ZenneZ Records and recently releasing her solo album Bird's Notes in the Netherlands, the assuredly rising charismatic Egle has long since earned her place on the Dutch and international jazz and Brazilian music scene as a creative, slightly flamboyant improvisatore rewarded with a warm, distinctive timbre.
Fernando Paiva is not only an instrumentalist, but also a showman, songwriter, improviser, and expert in rhythms from all regions of Brazil. He not only fires up the band on the drums and interacts with the audience, but also does solo shows with surprising vocal percussion. Fernando is an experienced and extremely creative wolf who has played with such greats as Joe Zawinul Syndicate, Lionel Ritchie, Joe Anderson, Raul de Souza, Hermeto Paschoal, Alegre Correa, Vienna Art Orchestra and others.
Djâmen Farias is a young composer, songwriter, guitarist and vocalist who already has one Latin Grammy Award to his credit. He unites all the band members with his guitar harmonies and his velvety voice beautifully supports Egle.
Matheus Nicolaiewsky - a virtuoso bassist who, together with Fernando, makes sure that the samba charge is unmistakable. Very flexible, he can play both percussively and lyrically, making the audience dance and tear up. He has already recorded dozens of albums with American, Dutch, Brazilian, Belgian, French, Spanish, Italian jazz greats such as Peter Bernstein, Vincent Herring, Stochelo Rosenberg and many others.
