He graduated with a degree in music from the Universidade Metodista do Sul IPA. His first contact with the music was 6 years old through the drums, later he began to learn some chords with his Pai um two Samba-Rock percursors in Brazil and in the world, a globally known rhythm through the voice of Jorge Bene Give music by Sérgio Mendes like "Mas que nada".
His greatest influences are black music, he basically grew up with great masters of Brazilian black music playing in his home such as Giba-Giba, Luis Vagner, Bedeu among others.
His music is based on research into the cultural roots of
diverse places around the world, mixing everything and creating their own language between existing and new rhythms. The music played by Djâmen is very difficult to place in one genre, it has influences from various styles and many times sounds like mantras, and is always in constant flux just like the human being himself. He believes that this is a way to elevate the soul and create peace in the hearts of people. This way of thinking is due to his philosophy of life based on Buddhism!
