Poet Julius Keleras will read his poems - deep, sensual, sometimes unexpectedly ironic, touching upon themes of being, love, time and meaning. His poetry is not only texts, but also living, breathing images that invite you to stop and listen.
Where the shadow of a child wanders barefoot across a cross street in a slow motion film: here you see the wind open a window on Pylimo Street and a piece of paper flies by, blindly written at the bottom of the page, with rye, you go out into the yard, and the river's the same, thank goodness:
morning- Julius Keleras
The musical background for this evening will be created by multi-instrumentalist Skirmantas Sasnauskas - a master of jazz improvisation, who is capable of combining in unexpected ways the different musical worlds. His playing on the trombone, and perhaps other instruments, will add a distinctive mood to each poem, allowing poetry to take on new sonic shades.
This will not be just a reading or a concert - it will be a lively dialogue between the music and the words, between the creators and the audience. It will be an evening where every note and every word will merge into a unique experience, sounding only here and now.
This event is part of the Music Magic Club's series of events "Stained Glass of Lines and Music". Starting on 23 February, on Sunday afternoons at 16:00, in a cosy chamber hall, poetry is read by the most famous Lithuanian readers, actors and the poets themselves, with live music accompanying the readings in a variety of interpretations. In addition to poetry readings, we also enjoy sung poetry events.
