In 1986, he graduated from the Lithuanian Conservatory (trombone class). While studying, he started playing jazz in V. Chekasin's big band and with the trio he founded, i.e. Mr. was interested in folk music, played music with folklore groups Intakas, Vydraga, Ła. In 1986, he formed a jazz quartet, which creatively used elements and timbres of Lithuanian folklore (in 1990, the quartet was recognized as the best Lithuanian jazz ensemble, in 1992, for the project Laumių sakmės with the folklore ensemble Vydraga, it won the Grand Prize of the Birštonas Festival).
