The tour introduces the concept of the restoration of the Sapiegas Palace in Antakalnis, the works carried out and the phenomena that inspire classical and contemporary restoration - from the atomic vibration of a fresco and the disintegration of a crystal lattice to sustainable biomimetic bacterial crystallisation. A walk through the palace includes an overview of the research and conservation work carried out here, the survival of valuable paintings and mouldings from the 17th and 18th centuries, fragments of porcelain tiles from the Sapiegian phase of the decorative period and their impressions, and the interventions of the later centuries.
